When I discovered Papatowai on a road trip, I felt an instant connection — the way the water, sand, sky, and wild coastal grasses blend together is simply beautiful. Standing there with my camera, I could sense the history of the Catlins around me, from early Māori stories to the old sawmilling days that shaped this remote region.
